Biarritz has always a strong relationship with the ocean. For over 40 years, the surf is rooted in local culture, providing an image and a lifestyle linked to environment and ocean. Steven Holl could not find a better place to realize the future “Cité de l’Océan et du surf”: resources center scientific, physical and meteorological. Real architectural signature, the curve which overlooks the large exhibition hall shows the movement of the ocean by an inverted curve, and respect for the environment through the use of an acoustic product, environmentally friendly: the Fellert.
