Fellert at Hazeltine Country club

This prestigious country club needed to replace their fifty year old clubhouse to better meet the needs of the PGA golf professionals they host.  As such the club wanted their accommodations to be top shelf. Speech intelligibility in the private dining area where members congregate for meetings and discussions was very important.  Due to the extensive use of glass and hard surfaces the ceiling became the only place for sound absorption.

Acoustic plaster was chosen for the ceiling not only for design flexibility and performance, but also to conform to the clubs strict standards for environmental responsibility.  The designer created a cantilevered set of ceiling sections with attractive lighting for maximum visual and acoustical effect. This design greatly reduced the reverberation time, providing the level of speech intelligibility desired in the dining room.  The clean, monothlic appearance of the ceiling does not detract from view of the beautiful golf course.
The contractor on the project executed the cantilevered design perfectly with clean, crisp lines.  The day after the installation was finished the sprinkler pipe burst causing damage to the ceiling.  Due to highly repairable nature of the product the contractor was able to bring it back to the original appearance without the need for replacing the entire ceiling.

The architect and the country club were both very happy with the results of the finished space.  Both the pre-function and dining room area performed as desired due to the use of the acoustical plaster.  The country club is ready for the Ryder Cup Matches they will be hosting in 2016.
